Clarifying the news of alleged attack on Balochistan chief minister, Sheikh Rashid said such news was a result of baseless information.
Information Minister said there was absolutely no attack on chief minister Jam Yousaf and he has reached his home in Kalat safely.
The minister said he had telephonic conversation with the chief minister who is now safe and sound in his home.
Sheikh Rashid explaining the incident said that it was a misunderstanding between three persons riding on a motorcycle and the police squad at the tail end of the CM's convoy, which resulted in exchange of fire between them. He said one person was killed and two others were wounded in the firing.
He said the chief minister had already reached Kalat when this incident happened.
Endorsing the statement of the Inspector General Police Balochistan, Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob, negating the alleged attacks the Information Minister said, IG had explained the factual position.
A spokesman of the Balochistan government also denied attack on Chief Minister's convoy.
The spokesman said that an ATF vehicle was on its routine patrol duty when the incident took place near Anjira due to some misunderstanding between Levies and ATF, which the government is investigating.
The Chief Secretary would brief the press on the issue on Tuesday.
